4 Piece set of Artblocks + Maquettes (2 blocks + 2 maquettes)

A fun set of modernist colour theory based solid wooden (pine) blocks (approx 5cm high), painted on all 5 visible sides, as well as small maquette-models of painted sculptures (all visible sides painted) made of clay and varnished. Two blocks & two maquettes are included in this set.

Unique/handpainted/not an edition. All the maquettes can be switched around, the blocks stacked, etc.

This was part of an experimental project relating to some possible larger sculptural ideas, recently shown at my Open Studios in the 'dollhouse gallery' (last photo shows that install shot). At the time I made them I was thinking a lot about Alexander Calder and how he made miniatures during many parts of his career, which then informed his monumental works.

Although whimsical and joyful please note these are not toys / are not child/are not pet safe. Please keep out of reach of young children).
