Ltd Edition Storyteller Deck of 33 Picture Cards

The Storyteller Set: an artisan deck of 33 tarot-sized cards based on a selection of Kate Trafeli's paintings from 2021-2023, reinterpreted.

The cards in this unique deck measure 8.9cm x14.6cm (slightly larger than a standard tarot card), with rounded corners on 800gsm specially banded paper; the deck is gathered together with a simple vintage ribbon (of various styles), inside a cloth sack for safe-keeping when not in use, and each set comes with a tri-fold pamphlet signed by Kate. This packaging was selected in order to be as sustainable/reusable as possible.

This set grew out of a desire to reunite images of Kate's paintings scattered over the world together into an intimate set. Viewers 'readings' of the symbolist paintings Kate creates have always been a strong thread within her work and this deck is intended to create an accessible way to delve into several pieces in an intimate way. Kate has never made prints of her works available prior.

While neither tarot nor archetype cards in any traditional sense, Kate's Storyteller cards draw on the rich visual tradition of symbolist reading and introspection in thinking about one's personal situation and unanswered questions.
